As President of Bhavsar International, It takes more than just a commitment on my side to an organization’s mission to become an exceptional board member. BI Foundation can make an incredible difference in our communities in India and Abroad. I believe the accomplishments of our BI foundation that is wisely and conscientiously led, can provide its members and thus Community with a great sense of satisfaction and enjoyment.
One of the major motivations for all of us is that we joined this BI-organization because our personal interests/beliefs fit with organization’s mission. But commitment to the mission by itself is not enough to make a 'BI member' truly valuable to an organization: We as BI members must be so passionate in the mission that we are comfortable taking part in fund-raising, and look forward to acting as an ambassador that promotes the organization to samaj friends, colleagues, and other contacts. We must be eager to use our professional skills to help oversee the organization.
Exceptional members add significant value to an organization, making discernible differences in advance on mission.
My request to all of you, as BI members, is to be so passionate about the mission that you are eager to use your connections, resources, and professional skills to enrich the organization.
During the planning process in the second half of this year 2008, we would like to translate our mission into goals and strategies that can be accomplished and measured. It seeks the strategic fit between the foundation’s mission and vision, its internal strengths and external opportunities, and its fund-raising strategy and impact in the Samaj. The planning process itself can yield huge benefits such as a re-commitment to the foundation’s mission, an understanding of our history, the identification of existing strengths, an opportunity to change the foundation’s processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement..
Whether we like it or not change is coming, change is must, change always happens either positively or negatively. If we don't do anything, Change happens negatively. It is natural. We have to catch up with it. Be the Driver of Change. When we change few lives, we made our living worthwhile.
